What can dental
bonding do for me? Bonding can quickly fill in ugly
gaps between teeth and repair chips and cracks. Dr. Brogdon uses
dental bonding to sculpt individual teeth with a special tooth-like
material that looks, acts and feels like the real thing.
What about
dental implants?
If you are missing one or more
teeth, you'll want replacements that are as natural as possible. If
dentures don't work for you, you may consider dental implants.
Implants are permanently anchored into the jaw itself. Dr.
Brogdon will evaluate you to see if you are a good candidate. The
implant device is inserted into the jaw and a chemical and
mechanical bond is formed. The jawbone actually grows into the
implant!
What are
porcelain veneers?
Think of this
treatment as a manicure for your smile. Veneers are thin shells of
porcelain that are custom fitted over your natural teeth. Dr.
Brogdon can change the shape, color and length of your teeth in only
two visits. It looks so good you'll wonder why you waited so long.
Why have dental
crowns?
The crown serves
two important functions. First, it restores the appearance of your
teeth and your face. If your tooth is severly decayed or cracked, we
will need to restore it prior to preparing a cap. Teeth also support
the muscles in our faces, so anything less than a full tooth may
affect the way you look.
Second, a crown
will be the same size and shape as the natural tooth. As a result,
it will keep your jaw and bite aligned; it will also make sure that
other teeth don't shift locations or take on a greater share of the
work of biting and chewing.
